Buying a home security system can be pricey, especially if you’re buying from a reputable brand like ADT. On top of the equipment cost, there’s a monthly monitoring fee to keep your security system connected to the monitoring center. All in all, you’ll likely spend around a thousand dollars in equipment and monitoring fees during the first three years.
That being said, having a home security system is crucial in keeping burglars out, so if you get the opportunity, time your purchase to coincide with sale events for a chance to enjoy discounts.
For Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2024, ADT is offering savings of up to $550 across its DIY packages and add-ons. Those add-ons include products from the Google Nest range. ADT has even slashed its Front Door Protection package by 60 percent. That’s quite the deal. Let’s take a look at the finer details.
Did You Know: ADT launched a new version of its security system this year, called ADT Plus. Unlike previous versions that require professional installation, ADT Plus can also be DIYed. It essentially bridges the gap between ADT and ADT Self Setup.
ADT Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals
We’ve been buying and testing products from ADT for years now, as you can see in our ADT security system review and our ADT Self Setup review. As we said before, ADT isn’t the cheapest option for home security, but in terms of quality, ADT is one of the best security systems available.
That’s why Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the perfect time to get an ADT home security system. This year, customers can get the Security Starter package for just $199 instead of $349. That’s pretty good, but we recommend the Video Essentials package, which is the same price ($199) and includes either a Google Nest Doorbell camera or a Google Nest Cam, indoor or outdoor.
The highlight of the Black Friday sale is ADT’s Front Door Protection package. ADT has discounted it by 60 percent so that it’s just $279. It’s designed to protect your front door with the Google Nest Doorbell, Yale Smart Lock, and ADT’s Trusted Neighbor feature.
FYI: Trusted Neighbor is a new feature launched in August 2024 that would allow eligible ADT security systems to autonomously unlock the door and disarm the alarm when a person you trust needs to enter your house. It uses input from the ADT app and facial recognition on the video doorbell to make this feature possible.

Take note that the discounts apply only to the equipment packages. The professional monitoring fee is not included in the sale. That means if you choose the Security Start plan, you’ll need to sign up to ADT Secure Monitoring, which is $29.99 per month. The Video Essentials and Front Door Protection require the Complete Monitoring plan, which is $44.99 per month.
Pro Tip: You can add extra equipment to any ADT package. These add-ons are also on sale during Black Friday with discounts of up to 30 percent, which includes Google Nest products.
ADT Prices in 2025
ADT is a really large brand with sub-brands like ADT Self Setup, but recently, it has been making moves that have moved these sub-brands closer, such as the launch of ADT Plus.
That’s good news, because instead of having different pricing for professionally-installed and DIY systems, all ADT packages cost the same and include the same components.
FYI: There are still some differences. For example, professionally-installed ADT systems require a three-year contract, while with self-installed DIY systems, professional monitoring is optional.
ADT Packages
ADT’s main packages are Build Your Own, Outdoor Protection, Front Door Protection, and Total Safety, although you can customize any of these packages however you want.
Professional monitoring for these packages start at $29.99 for the most basic features such as monitoring, cellular backup, and smartphone app access. It increases to $34.99 per month if you want smart home features, such as automation and control of smart locks and smart thermostats. However, if your security system includes security cameras, you’re required to sign up for the $44.99 per month plan that includes Nest Aware (cloud subscription) and video verification.
